Kevin aka Chefsky
Kevin Shmaefsky, a Colorado native, began his journey in the industry twenty years ago at a family-owned pizzeria. It was there that he discovered his passion for the craft and decided to pursue a career in the culinary field.
Several restaurants and mentors later, Kevin found himself working in an establishment which allowed him the creative freedom he craved. The discovery of his passion enabled others to see his true talent and he was offered a position in fine dining at a well-known Denver restaurant. There he climbed the ranks to sous chef which then brought the opportunity to travel to Dallas and be part of the opening team in their Beverly hill’s location. It was during this time Kevin met the love of his life back in Colorado and eventually made the decision to move back home.
After many long nights and lengthy commutes, he made the difficult decision to take a break from the restaurant industry. With the encouragement from his wife, and a tempting offer for a chef position at Aspen Peak Cellars, Kevin’s passion for cooking was reignited. He has spent the last two years at Aspen Peak Cellars as Executive chef and kitchen manager where he and his team are free to showcase their creativity and culinary skills.
He and his wife Amanda recently welcomed their first child, a beautiful baby girl named Olivia. In his free time kevin enjoys the outdoors, foraging for native edibles, rock climbing, and hiking. He also currently owns a tropical fish breeding facility, and ships fish nationwide.
